This week Dr. Clara Guerra, Head of Liechtenstein's Office for Digital Innovation, visited Washington to present Liechtenstein’s experience as a pioneer in the field of blockchain regulation and digital assets.

There was keen interest in Liechtenstein's legal framework for the Token Economy as the United States discusses developing its own regulatory regime.

On Friday, December 20, 2024, the Principality of Liechtenstein proudly signed the Artemis Accords, marking a significant step in international space cooperation and the peaceful exploration of outer space. The signing ceremony took place at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where Director of the Office for Communications Rainer Schnepfleitner officially signed the Accords on behalf of Liechtenstein, making it the 52nd signatory nation.

From November 18-20, Marco Büchel, one of Liechtenstein's most renowned personalities, visited Washington, D.C., for a series of events aimed at fostering connections between Liechtenstein and the United States. Marco, who proudly represented Liechtenstein as a professional alpine ski racer on the global stage, continues to serve as a Goodwill Ambassador of Liechtenstein’s culture and values.

On October 22 and 23, 2024, the United States and Liechtenstein launched the inaugural US-Liechtenstein Strategic and Economic Partnership Dialogue in Washington, D.C. U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and Liechtenstein’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dominique Hasler, headed their respective delegations, marking a new chapter in the strong partnership between the two countries.

On Monday, October 21, 2024, Liechtenstein officially became the 191st member of the International Monetary Fund.

Prime Minister Daniel Risch signed the original Articles of Agreement at the US Department of State in Washington, D.C., marking a significant step for Liechtenstein’s global financial integration. This decision, backed by a popular vote in Liechtenstein, highlights the nation’s commitment to international cooperation and economic stability.

From September 30 to October 2, 2024, Ambassador Georg Sparber visited Wyoming and South Dakota to deepen bilateral relations and explore areas of collaboration, focusing on innovation in digital finance, advanced manufacturing, and international trade. The visit facilitated high-level discussions with government officials, business leaders, and academic institutions, furthering Liechtenstein’s ties with these partners.

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, Foreign Minister Dominique Hasler and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Liechtenstein, Scott Miller, signed an agreement to establish a Strategic and Economic Partnership Dialogue. With the agreement, the two countries commit to regular meetings at senior official level and an even closer exchange on topics of bilateral, global and multilateral interest.
