From November 18-20, Marco Büchel, one of Liechtenstein's most renowned personalities, visited Washington, D.C., for a series of events aimed at fostering connections between Liechtenstein and the United States. Marco, who proudly represented Liechtenstein as a professional alpine ski racer on the global stage, continues to serve as a Goodwill Ambassador of Liechtenstein’s culture and values.
During his visit Marco visited Bancroft Elementary School, where he shared stories about his life as a professional athlete and answered curious questions from the students. His message of perseverance, dedication, and the joy of pursuing one's passion left a lasting impression on these young learners.
The Embassy of Liechtenstein hosted a reception for current and former US Capitol staffers who have participated in the annual Liechtenstein Congressional Staff Trip. Marco, who has for years met with congressional staff, reconnected with familiar faces and shared his unique perspective on how sports and cultural exchanges foster international friendships.
Marco also had the chance to explore Washington, D.C.’s most iconic landmarks, from the Capitol Building and the White House to the historic monuments along the National Mall, experiencing firsthand the rich history and culture of the US Capital.
This visit reflects the continued commitment of Liechtenstein and the United States to building meaningful connections across communities.
