Ambassador Sparber Visits Georgia

From May 31 to June 1, 2023, Ambassador Sparber traveled to Atlanta and Macon, Georgia. On May 31, Ambassador Sparber was welcomed in Atlanta by  Dr. Bruce S. Allen, Honorary Consul of Liechtenstein to the South and Southeastern United States, and his wife Jennifer. Later they travelled to the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon, GA where they viewed prehistoric Native American ceremonial and burial mounds. Ambassador Sparber was also able to meet with Macon-Bibb Mayor T.H. Lester Miller, where they discussed Liechtenstein’s work in the US in exchanging best-practices on apprenticeship programs.

The next destination was the Mercer School of Law, where Ambassador Sparber engaged in an exchange with Interim Dean and Professor of Law Karen J. Sneddon and faculty on Liechtenstein’s support for the international rule of law and took a tour of the campus.

On June 1, Ambassador Sparber met with the leadership of Wesleyan College, Georgia’s first female college, and briefly toured its campus. Returning to Atlanta, he met with Lisa Gordon, Chief Operating Officer in the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of International & Immigrant Affairs, where they discussed common priorities such as apprenticeships, inclusion, and the promotion of women entrepreneurs. While in Atlanta, Ambassador Sparber dined at Kaiser's Chophouse in Sandy Springs, renowned for its top-rated Liechtenstein Chef Peter Kaiser.
