In June Liechtenstein released the findings of its second Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In its summary, the report states that:
Overall, the implementation of the SDGs [Sustainable Development Goals] in Liechtenstein is developing positively. As the report shows, several SDGs are well implemented, in particular SDGs 1 (Poverty), 2 (Hunger), 3 (Health), 4 (Education), 6 (Water), 8 (Work), and SDG 16 (Peaceful Societies). The COVID-19 pandemic clearly demonstrated the strong crisis resilience of the state, the economy, and society, as well as the central importance of cross-border cooperation for crisis response.
The report does highlight areas that need further improvements, such as reconciling family and careers, as well as greater political participation of women; more mobility options to decrease dependence on individual motorized transport; climate protection; an increase in the sustainability of resource consumption; and further developing Liechtenstein's Official Development Assistance (ODA) to come closer to the international target of .7 percent.
