Tina Weirather, born in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, is the daughter of former alpine skiers Hanni Wenzel and Harti Weirather. Hanni Wenzel won two overall World Cup titles in 1978 and 1980, as well as two Olympic gold medals in Lake Placid in 1980. Tina’s father Harti won the season title in downhill in 1981 and the world championship in 1982.

Tina's official Europa Cup debut was in 2005/2006 at the age of 15, where she won twice and also became Junior World Champion in giant slalom. During her first World Cup season in 2006/2007 she ended with 109 points and 3 Junior World Cup medals. After a few years battling injuries to her knees, in 2011 Tina and her trainer Pascal joined the Swiss Ski Team and competed very successfully during the 2011/2012 season with five podium results. One of her best seasons yet has been the 2015/2016 period, where she ranked second in super-G, fifth in giant slalom, eighth in downhill and fourth overall.
