Internships

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Embassy of Liechtenstein will not be offering internships for 2021. This applies to applicants from both Liechtenstein and the United States.

The Embassy of the Principality of Liechtenstein in Washington welcomes applications for internships throughout the year. Internships are generally coordinated with the US university semester schedule and are offered in the Fall (September-December), Winter/Spring (January-April) and Summer (May-July).

As daily work conducted requires verbal and written knowledge of German, applicants with advanced, working knowledge of German are preferred.

Internships are unpaid and part-time (we require at least 25 hours/week). Internship hours can be customized with the academic schedule of the chosen candidate. Full-time internships are also offered depending on a candidate’s availability.

Duties include research analysis, composition of memos and reports, attendance of various congressional hearings and think tank functions, event management and a range of administrative tasks. Candidates must have excellent English writing and communication skills along with an academic background in international relations.

Candidates must be motivated, a self-starter, detail-oriented and be able to multi-task. The internship is a great opportunity for college students and graduates seeking experience in foreign and diplomatic affairs. Interns work directly with the Ambassador and are fully integrated into the every-day tasks and workings of the Embassy.

E-mail cover letter, one letter of recommendation and CV addressed to Matthew Keller at matthew(dot)keller(at)was(dot)llv(dot)li. Please do not contact the Embassy of Liechtenstein by phone to inquire about the internship.
